About soccer balls

The soccer ball takes a lot of kicking and poorly made balls will not last very long.

In this review, I shifted through the 100s of soccer balls online to give you the 10 best balls that are durable and affordable. Most of them are training balls.

Bear in mind that top-quality balls, or match balls,  are not cheap because of the materials used and the workmanship but there some balls with this exception.

NOTE: Unless specifically stated, all soccer balls are shipped to buyers without air inside (deflated) and without an air pump.

You have to buy a pump separately.

Check out these soccer ball pumps.

Choosing the best soccer ball

1. The correct size for your kid’s age

Soccer ball comes in various sizes, so the first thing to consider is your kid’s age before choosing the size of the ball.

The balls in this list range from size 2 to size 5

Here is the guide:

Ball size and measurements

2. Materials

The outer layer of the ball should be made of synthetic leather or similar material while the inside lining should be made of polyester and cotton.

The bladder inside the ball should be made of butyl rubber.

3. Training Vs match ball

Training balls are generally more durable and cheaper because they are constructed to last long, however, they do not perform well as the match ball.

Match balls, on the other hand, are expensive and perform better but not as durable as the training ball.

Match balls are not used for training but for matches only because of wear and tear.

Caring for your soccer balls

  • Lubricate needle before inserting it to inflate the ball
  • Inflate ball 24 hours before using it
  • Reduce pressure after using the ball for longevity
  • Clean the ball with a damp cloth and allow time to dry naturally
  • Read care instructions that come with the ball

Conclusion

Playing with a good soccer ball should be fun and help your kid develop his or her soccer skills faster.

Remember to choose the correct size for your kid by following the guide above.

Soccer balls can last longer if they are well-taken care of and this will save you money in the long run.

I hope this review helps you choose the right soccer ball.

Have fun and be safe
